2026 v5. End of May

29th of May, 10am on my side of the planet.

After a week of rain totalling over 100mm/ 4inches, we get a clear, sunny, crisp day. The ground is soggy. It’ll be a few days before the ground dries but it’s nice to have the sun out. The kennels suffer in weather like this. Tho I keep the dogs’ beds dry, the entire area is a mud field. Ive been waiting for the “dry season” so I can dig some drains. I basically need a moat.

I was listening to someone I admire recently… the topic of conversation was Ai, the modern www, the general idea of being “connected” 100% of the time… The individual I admire went against the trend of the discussion and stated that he was working to get away for it all… “I just want to disconnect and go live on a little farm where it’s quiet”… were his words.

While everyone is talking about Ai, and getting prompts right, and managing all the information, and participating in this forever-changing trend, as folks praised or not the new tech, one honest person said they preferred to opt out.

I was both a bit taken-back, and impressed at the same time. A “personality” arguing for less connectivity, less distraction, less angst, less turmoil…

And, unwittingly, expressing my personal view on life…

I live in a rural valley, on 120 acres of QLD’s best. I am a legal, licensed, registered “farmer”. My land has healthy, glossy, beautiful brahmin/cross cattle turning the verdant green grass into prime beef. The stream running through the valley is clear and clean. We have ancient trees standing tall and broad. The flora and fauna are abundant and quite tame. The deer that reside in the valley are a calming feature. The cycle of life thrives and impresses.

Of course, the dogs are my main past time. I have been developing my own “breed” for some time. As I say to others, “I finally have the recipe right”. I can confidently breed my dogs, and confidently predict what the outcome will be.

My pups are now 14weeks old. I have planned to keep some forom this litter, raise and train them here, then send them off to family. My main issue is the requirement that dogs must be desexed to export them. I think a dog, male or female, needs a couple years to grow and develop. If desexed early a dog never gets to mature properly.

So we prepare to expand our kennels, get ready to raise and train these pups.

I do like Dawgs…

Lets see if I have some recent visuals of my amazing mongrels…

And the beat goes on…

More later
