Federal Election today.
I have written (a lot) about the democratic system here in Aus, vs the democratic system of the USA, and the system of the Solomon Islands. There are numerous differences.
My favourite variance is the fact that it is illegal to NOT v vote here in Aus. “…under federal electoral law, it is compulsory for all eligible Australian citizens to enrol and vote in federal elections, by-elections and referendums.” https://www.aec.gov.au/faqs/
